Riyaz - Contemporary Art Practise
The conservation of memory is often dependent on documentation. ‘Riyaz' is an ambitious initiative to bring together the art practice of some of the most powerful voices of the country spanning different generations & regions. The idea is to showcase artists who work in diverse mediums thereby creating a narrative that is inclusive & open. It is a rare collection of art ranging from K G Subramanyan’s brilliant series to Manu & Madhvi Parekh, Mona Rai’s luminous canvas to Riyas Komu’s sculpture. Bapi Das to Ranbir Kaleka & others each a distinctive presence in the contemporary world of art. Post pandemic it is time to look forward to better times & celebrate new beginnings. Riyaz, the inaugural show of Iram Art, curated by Ina Puri, celebrates inclusivity alongside.
