On the field of truth on the battlefield III, 2013
Fimo, sculpey, dust fibres
Variable
The third installment of my ongoing project based upon readings of the Bhagavadgita. Each iteration reflecting personal developments and thinking in relation to finding my way in the world, and how the message of the Bhagavadgita accompanies me in this daily understanding and striving of one's life. This third presentation draws visual influence from the sculptures, totemic idols and statues of early cultural groups that were spread across Asia, such as the Indus Valley Civilisation. Materials as Sculpey and Fimo relate to my sphere of the domestic and everyday, and the sense that art is inseparable to my self-awareness. The deliberate incorporation of dust and animal fibres the un-hardened material collected over days in the studio, for me, reflect the fleeting and minutiae of each day presents - This is the two-pronged sword of life the temporal and the long-standing legacy.
